Rosemary essential oil, with its warm and penetrating aroma, is one of the most stimulating oils used in aromatherapy. It has a very strong antiseptic action so is terrific to use in aromatherapy recipes for cleaning.Rosemary has trad itionally been used in skin and hair care for centuries.
Analgesic, antiseptic, antidepressant, cephalic, diuretic, stimulant, tonic, astringent, hypertensive, emmenagogue, rubefacient.
Aromatic application(Mind, Spirit and Body):
Rosemary oil stimulates the mind and improves memory.
Rosemary oil has a pronounced action on the brain and the central nervous system and is wonderful for clearing the mind and mental awareness, while having excellent brain stimulant properties, as well as improving memory.
In vapor therapy, rosemary oil can be helpful for congestion, alcohol over-indulgence, overwork, sinusitis and mental and physical tiredness. It furthermore stimulates the brain, improves memory and promotes clear thinking.
Rosemary essential oil works well as a pain reliever but without making you feel dopey.
Its stimulating properties make it good for clearing the head and helping memory.
Works well in an aromatherapy massage blend to relieve stiff and tired muscles.
It has a very stimulating effect on the central nervous system, so can be used where there may be temporary loss of smell, or speech impairment.
Also useful for people with colds, catarrh sinusitis and even asthma - here it is best used as a steam inhalation.
Rosemary helps to lower cholesterol levels in the blood and is good for your heart.
Rosemary is astringent and toning and good for oily or congested skin, especially in the form of an aromatic water.
A great oil for stimulating dull skin and good for the scalp, especially dandruff or loss of hair.
Add 2 - 3 drops (depending on essential oil) into a teaspoon of honey, whole milk, vegetable oil or other dispersing/diluting agent then add to bath water once you are in the bath.
This method results in absorption through the skin, as well as inhalation of the volatilized essential oil.

Since essential oils are highly concentrated, most essential oils can not be applied directly to the skin without being diluted.
