• The term “organic” refers to the way agricultural products are grown and processed without the use of fertilizers or pesticides deriving from vegetable matter, rather than from chemicals. Organic products use no drugs, hormones, pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides or synthetic chemicals. They are simple, healthful, and close to nature.
    • Ayurveda, the Indian “science of life”(Ayur = life, Veda = science or knowledge), is an ancient system of healing that sees health as our birthright. Thousands of years before modern medicine provided scientific evidence for the mind-body connection, the sages of India developed Ayurveda, which continues to be one of the world’s most sophisticated and powerful mind-body health systems. More than a mere system of treating illness, It believes that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit.

The two main guiding principles of Ayurveda are
      • 1. The mind and the body are inextricably connected, and
      • 2. Nothing has more power to heal and transform the body than the mind.

The primary focus of Ayurveda is to promote good health, rather than fight disease. Since the mind and body are inseparable, freedom from illness depends upon expanding our mind to a refreshing state, which brings balance between mind-body to restore health.

    • The skin is the body’s largest organ and the first line of defense against many toxins. Healthy skin is alive with vibrating energy. It's radiant, smooth, supple, elastic, and moist. The key to remember is that what you put on your body will be absorbed into your body's bloodstream and other major organs. Do you know that our skin can absorb up to 60% of what we put into it? According to a survey, over 5,000 complex and synthetic chemicals are used in personal care products which have the potential to cause dangerous side effects, such as hormonal imbalance as well as cancer in some extreme cases and bad skin in the long run for most. The products feel ‘nice’ on the skin but certainly do nothing to nourish it.

One of the key benefits of using organic skin care products is to minimize exposure to chemicals. These products nourish your skin without causing any side effects! Let's break the myth of using tons of chemical-based moisturizers, creams, toners, and cleansers to have great skin. Organic skincare products offer extra nourishment to your skin and keep it fresh and young. They don’t show results as swiftly as regular products but aim to maintain the health and radiance of your skin.

However, many of the personal care products in the market contain toxins and chemicals that suffocate the skin. It is always recommended to avoid petroleum by-products, which include mineral oils and paraffin. These products hold greater chances of containing carcinogens, which obstruct the skin’s ability to get rid of waste and toxins.

Just Think again!!! What benefits can chemical-filled products give your skin in the long run? Why take a chance? Go organic at Ancient Living skincare products.

    • Natural products repair damaged hair cells, renew dormant hair cells, and regenerate follicle stem cells for continuous long hair growth. Organic ingredients are safe, gentle, and deliver great hair care results.

But, Many of the common, traditionally formulated cosmetic and hygiene products in the market that promise great hair are tend to be full of potentially harmful synthetic chemicals which can often do more harm than good in the long run. These chemicals may provide you with silky hair, but extensive use of these products can and will damage your hair over time. More specifically, non-organic shampoos, conditioners, and other beauty products often include sulfates, which are believed to prematurely dry out of hair, and parabens, certain chemical compounds that may be harmful to the environment. Another drawback to synthetic cosmetic ingredients is that they tend to form a coating on your scalp and hair strands. Instead of strengthening conditioning your hair strands, this product build-up can actually begin to weaken your hair strands, leaving long hair dull and unmanageable.

You may not realize it, but when you wash your hair you are washing chemicals down the drain! The chemicals used in your hair don’t just stay on your head, but, they go down the drain and into the environment. When you use hair products containing chemicals, you are exposing your whole body to those chemicals which are being absorbed into your skin and processed by your body. Using chemicals in products is a recipe for skin irritation and other allergic reactions.

Why would you use a product that introduces potentially harmful chemicals to your body when you could go organic? If you want healthier hair, it is time for you to get out of your old routine and explore the world of organic hair products!

Just Think again!!! How do we believe chemical-based products have no side effects? In the long run, they do cause severe problems. Simply, Go organic at Ancient Living!!!

    • Aromatherapy, also referred to as Essential Oil therapy, can be defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind, and spirit. It seeks to unify physiological, psychological, and spiritual processes to enhance an individual’s innate healing process.

Essential oils are taken from a plant's flowers, leaves, stalks, bark, rind, or roots. These oils consist of tiny aromatic molecules that are readily absorbed through the skin, and while breathing they enter the lungs. These therapeutic constituents next enter the bloodstream and are carried around the body where they can deliver their beneficial healing powers. It is believed that the inhalation of essential oils stimulates the part of the brain connected to smell - the olfactory system; a signal is sent to the limbic system of the brain that controls emotions and retrieves learned memories. This causes chemicals to be released which makes the person feel relaxed, calm, or even stimulated.

The aromatherapy in the researcher's words....., "Aromatherapy is... the skilled and controlled use of essential oils for physical and emotional health and well being." Valerie Cooksley

"Aromatherapy is a caring, hands-on therapy which seeks to induce relaxation, to increase energy, to reduce the effects of stress and to restore lost balance to mind, body, and soul." Robert Tisserand

"Aromatherapy can be defined as the controlled use of essential oils to maintain and promote physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being." Gabriel Mojay

It is a natural, non-invasive modality designed to affect the whole person not just the symptom or disease and to assist the body's natural ability to balance, regulate, heal and maintain itself by the correct use of essential oils." Jade Shutes

Application of aromatherapy Aromatherapy is generally applied in one of three ways:

Aerial diffusion - the oils evaporate into the air. The aim is to give the air a specific fragrance or to disinfect it.

Direct inhalation - the person breaths the evaporating oils straight in. This is commonly used for respiratory disinfection, de-congestion, as well as for psychological benefits.

Topical applications - applied onto the skin. Commonly used for massage, baths, and therapeutic skincare.

Aromatherapy may promote relaxation and help relieve stress. It has also been used to help treat a wide range of physical and mental conditions, Anxiety, Stress, infections, Insomnia, Muscular aches, Body aches, Headaches, Circulation problems, Digestive problems, Menstrual problems, and Menopausal problems.

    • "Essential oils have played a prevalent role throughout history and have even been called mankind’s first medicine"

Essential oil is the pure, volatile(meaning they evaporate quickly), an undiluted extract of a plant that can be derived from leaves, twigs, berries, bark, wood, stems, grasses, root, seeds, flowers, hairs, ducts, petals, zest of the fruit, peel of citrus fruits and other parts of the plant. They are called "essential" because they are the immune system of the plant and without them, the plant would die.

Therapeutic-grade essential oils are that they have a number of beneficial properties and can affect to heal our minds and bodies both through inhalation and by penetrating through the skin. They can be calming, relaxing, stimulating, good for digestion, or mood balancing. Essential oils also have benefits for your body, supporting organ systems, and promoting the health of your skin. They nourish the tissues, encourage cell growth, and help the body detoxify.

Since the essential oils are more than nice scents. These powerful plant extracts are your path to lifelong wellness and can be applied in the following four ways,

Dietary - Ingestion means essential oils can be taken internally but we do not recommend this strictly.

    • Essential oils can be extracted via two key methods: Distillation and Expression.

      Steam Distillation:

A process of extracting essential oils from plant products through a heating and evaporation process. When the steam is passed through the organic material, tiny pockets holding the essential oils open to release the essential oil molecules without doing any damage to these delicate components. The distillate obtained will contain a mixture of water vapor and essential oils which finally return to their liquid form in the condensing apparatus. Then they are separated using a Florentine separator. Variations in temperature, pressure, and distillation time are used to control the process.

Expression also referred to as cold pressing, is a method of extraction specific to citrus essential oils, such as tangerine, lemon, bergamot, sweet orange, and lime. cold-pressed”, is a method where oil is obtained by using high mechanical pressure to literally squeeze the oil from the plant material.

During this process, the rind of the fruit is placed in a container having spikes that will puncture the peel while the device is rotated. The puncturing of the rind will release the essential oil juice that is then collected in a small area below the container. The centrifugal force is used to extract the pure essential oil. It "presses" so the maximum amount of essential oil can be extracted from the pulp and fiber of the fruit and vegetable, leaving a raw and fresh juice. The spinning in a centrifuge separates the majority of essential oil from the fruit juice.

    • There are 3 basic applications of essential oils:
      • 1. Aromatic/Inhalation Application
      • 2. Topical Application
      • 3. Dietary/Ingestion Application
      Aromatic Application:

Aerial diffusion: Aerial diffusing is an effective way to use aromatically. Infuse the air with these highly concentrated oils with any diffuser or candle/electric vaporizer and inhale deeply.

      Direct inhalation:

The person breaths the evaporating oils straight in. Even you can also breathe in these oils from open bottles. This is commonly used for respiratory disinfection, de-congestion, as well as for psychological benefits.

      Direct palm inhalation:

Direct palm inhalation refers to the technique of inhaling an essential oil directly from the palms of your hands. Add a couple of drops in the palm and rub in a clockwise. Cup both hands together over the nose and mouth and inhale deeply – without touching your eyes.

      Steam inhalation:

Place 3-5 drops of essential oil, like, Eucalyptus, Thyme, Lemon, Tea tree, into hot water. Cover head with a towel and breathe through the nose. Effective for cold and flu. Keep your eyes closed!

      Topical Application:

Essential oils cannot be applied directly to the skin without being diluted. Direct application to the skin. Commonly used for massage, baths, and therapeutic skincare. Since they are highly concentrated, they quickly absorbed by the body. These can soothing overworked or heal the sore muscles. Some effective points of the contact are the back of the neck, the temples above the eyes, the bottoms of the feet, the inside of the wrists, and any other non-sensitive area that experiencing the pain.

      For Baths:

Add 2 - 5 drops (depending on essential oil) into a teaspoon of honey, whole milk, vegetable oil or other dispersing/diluting agent then add to bath water once you are in the bath. This method results in absorption through the skin, as well as inhalation of the volatilized essential oil. Keep your eyes closed!

Dietary Application: - Ingestion means essential oils can be taken internally but we do not recommend this strictly. In addition to the uses mentioned above, there are some other applications of essential oils I put into action regularly. A few of these are: as a stain remover, room freshener, insect repellent, household cleaner, bath salt, and cooking ingredient.
